Tuning Up for 2026

Watch Out

Harvard men's lacrosse was represented by two of its captains on the USA Lacrosse Preseason All-America Teams, which were announced by the organization on Tuesday (Jan. 20). The duo of Logan Ip and Jack Speidell landed on the second and third team, respectively ahead of the Crimson's highly anticipated 2026 campaign.

A senior midfielder out of California, Logan Ip landed on the second team after being named to the 2025 USA Lacrosse Third Team All-America a season ago. The Corona Del Mar and West Coast Starz product set career highs last year, posting 38 points, 23 goals and 15 assists while also serving as a junior captain. A breakout sophomore season for Jack Speidell helped him earn a post on the third team this preseason. A Long Island native, Speidell scored 3.07 goals per game in 2025 – the eighth most in the NCAA – and poured in 46 total goals to lead the Crimson attack. A 2025 USA Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American, Speidell landed on the All-Ivy Second Team a year ago after totaling 59 points while adding seven caused turnovers.

On the World Stage

This Summer, Jack Speidell (USA), Jared Maznik (Canada) and Wyatt Wiggins (Canada) competed on the world stage at the 2025 World Lacrosse U20 Championship on Jeju Island in South Korea. The Canadians made history at the tournament, dethroning the United States to earn the nation's first ever Gold Medal.

For their strong play throughout the tournament, Maznik and Speidell both landed on the World Lacrosse U20 All-World Team. Speidell finished the tournament as Team USA's leader in goals (17) and points (31) after registering 14 assists which was the fourth most in the tournament. His goals were also good for fourth place during the week. Maznik collected seven goals, 10 assists and led team Canada with 17 points – which was T12 in the tournament – to earn his spot on the All-World Team. Wiggins played solid defense for the Canadians throughout the tournament, helping the unit cause 38 turnovers and allow just 30 goals in six games during the team's gold medal run.

The Canadians recorded a 6-5 win in the Gold Medal game – after falling to the American side, 7-6, earlier in the tournament – behind a stout defensive effort.  Wiggins, a rising junior LSM/D at Harvard, helped the Canadian defense hold off a valiant comeback attempt from the United States that fell just short. Maznik tallied Canada's sixth goal of the game, the eventual game-winner, to chip in on the winning effort.

Running it Back

Harvard returns a majority of its production from 2025 to the roster in 2026 from all five major statistical categories.
  • 65 percent of its points (213/326)
  • 68 percent of its goals (141/208)
  • 61 percent of its assists (72/118)
  • 65 percent of its ground balls (347/531)
  • 51 percent of its caused turnovers (88/175)

Looking Ahead

Harvard will play a challenging and exciting schedule of games in 2026 that features matchups with six teams ranked in the KANE Inside Lacrosse media poll. Three more opponents are receiving votes in the poll, bringing the total to nine opponents receiving votes in the poll. A few highlights include home games at Jordan Field against preseason ranked No. 2 Syracuse (Feb. 21) and No. 3 Princeton (Apr. 18) and neutral site battles against No. 20 Michigan in Houston (Mar. 7) and against No. 5 North Carolina in Baltimore (Mar. 29).

The Captains

Logan Ip, Sean Jordan and Jack Speidell will team up to lead the Crimson this season as it navigates its way through the 2026 campaign. The 161st, 162nd and 163rd captains in program history, the group will look to help guide the Crimson back to the Ivy League and NCAA tournaments and continue its run of success when the squad takes the field in mid-February.

Just the 17th multi-year captain in 148 years of Harvard lacrosse, Logan Ip hopes to use the lessons he learned last season to help him lead the Crimson effectively in 2026. A senior LSM for the Crimson, Sean Jordan will now assume a new responsibility this season as he steps into the team captain role. Jordan hopes to lead front the front and set the standard day in and day out for his teammates. A junior attackman, Jack Speidell enters the 2026 season on the heels of a breakout sophomore season. Speidell was elected captain by his teammates and will follow in the footsteps of Logan Ip '26 and Sam King '25 as junior captains of the Crimson.
