Harris Walker captured wins over ranked opponents in the main draw consolation bracket of the ITA All-American Championship.
Walker kicked off the day for the Crimson by taking on No. 83 Franco Capalbo (Utah). Starting off the match strong, Walker pulled out to a 5-0 lead in the first set and was then awarded the win as Capalbo had to retire due to injury. von der Schulenburg then faced off against No. 41 Peter Makk (USC). The match started off as a back-and-forth battle with von der Schulenburg taking the first set (7-5) and then narrowly being beaten in the tiebreakers in the second (6
5-7
7). von der Schulenburg handled business in the final set (6-3) to close out the match.
All players were granted byes in the round of 32 and will play in the round of 16 of the consolation bracket tomorrow. von der Schulenburg will begin the day at 9:00 a.m. as he faces off against No. 71 Geronimo Espin Busleiman (Utah). Walker will then take on Pedro Rodenas (Duke). Rodenas was ranked fourth in the ITA Men's Preseason Freshman/Newcomer Rankings.
