Wrestling Opens Season with Six First Place Finishes at Journeymen Classic.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Harvard Wrestling opened its season with six first-place finishes at the Journeymen classic in Bethlehem Pennsylvania on Sunday. Joseph Cangro, Joshua Kim, Michael Bobola, Peter Ferraro, Philip Conigliaro, and Yaraslau Slavikouski all finished first in their respective weightclass. The Crimson also had five second-place finishes and three third-place finishes throughout the tournament.

Harvard Highlights

Harvard finished fourth overall at the Sunday tournament.
First-year Joseph Cangro won pool B at 141 pounds via a four-win weekend. He defeated Buffalo, Hofstra, West Point, and Lock Haven en route to his four wins. He tallied a major decision in his victory over Hofstra.
Joshua Kim took pool A at 165 pounds. The captain registered three victories with wins over North Carolina State and West Point. The junior finished with a 2-1 record on the day.
Fellow first-year Michael Bobola won pool C at 165 pounds. He defeated Oklahoma for his one victory.
Senior Peter Ferraro opened his season by winning pool B at 184 pounds with two wins in three matches on Sunday. He defeated Lehigh and Nebraska.
Captain Phil Conigliaro picked up where he left off last season by winning pool A at 174 pounds. The Junior defeated Arizona State and North Carolina State on his way to a 2-1 weekend.
Fellow Captain Yaraslau Slavikouski finished in first place in pool A at 285 pounds. The senior racked up victories against North Carolina State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Lehigh on his way to an undefeated weekend.
Beau Bayless placed second in Pool A at 133 pounds. He registered one win in three matches with a victory over Oklahoma.
Leo Tarantino placed second in Pool A at 184 pounds. He defeated Penn and Arizona State on his way to a 2-1 weekend.
Senior Mike Doggett finished second in Pool C at 184 pounds. His victory came against West Point in a 10-2 decision.
Nick Marcenelle had the Crimson's final second-place finish in pool B at 197 pounds. He defeated West Point and Oklahoma for his two victories on Sunday.
Cael Berg, Dante Frinzi, and Luke Rada all registered third-place finishes in their respective weightclass.
Diego Sotelo finished fourth in pool A at 125 pounds.
