EVANSTON, IL. – Harvard Wrestling returns from its 27-day break for the Midlands Tournament in Evanston, IL. The two-day tournament will mark the last tournament of the 2022 calendar year.
What to Know
- The Crimson had a very successful showing at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational.
- Captain Joshua Kim was ranked No. 12 in the preseeds for the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational by Flowrestling. The junior also received an honorable mention in the national rankings at 165 pounds.
- Senior Philip Conigliaro also had a preseed ranking ahead of this weekend's tournament. The senior came in at No. 6 for the tournament while also being ranked at No. 13 nationally.
- The Crimson's last nationally ranked athlete Yaraslau Slavikouski came in at No. 3 in the preseed tournament rankings while also receiving a No. 5 national ranking by Flowrestling.
- Jack Crook went 1-2 at 149 Pounds after defeating Purdue.
- Joshua Kim had another solid outing after going 2-2. The senior upset No. 4 Austin Yant of Northern Iowa before defeating Stoney Buell of Perdue for his two victories on the weekend.
- No. 6 Phil Conigliaro defeated Michigan and Northern Iowa for his two victories.
- Yaraslau Slavikouski went 6-1 over the two-day tournament as the senior finished in third place at 285 pounds. The captain's only loss of the tournament coming against Wyatt Hendrickson of Air Force who Slavikouski later went on to beat in the third-place match. Slavikouski finished the tournament with wins against Utah Valley, Nebraska Kearney, Air Force, Navy, NC State and South Dakota State.

The Crimson will have one more tournament on Jan. 6 when they travel to the Franklin Marshall Open in Lancaster, PA before starting its dual season against the University of North Carolina on Jan. 14 at home
