CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Men's' and Women's Ice Hockey teamed up over the past few weeks to spread a bit of cheer during the upcoming holiday season. During the second annual Teddy Bear Toss, the teams collected over 200 stuffed animals to be delivered to pediatric patients in the Boston Region over the holidays.

The drive took place at the men's game against Yale (Nov. 5) and the women's game against the New Hampshire Wildcats (Nov. 26). Fans at these two games brought the stuffed animals to the Bright-Landry Hockey Center and threw them onto the ice during the first intermission to be gathered for donation.
The stuffed animals were collected and given to patients at both Massachusetts General Hospital for Children and Beth-Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

"The Teddy Bear toss was a great opportunity for our team to give back to our community in a small way," said Harvard women's hockey team captain, Kyra Willoughby. "As a program, we value being part of something bigger than ourselves, and we hope that the teddy bears bring a little joy and holiday cheer to the patients. We also hope to continue this initiative in the years to come and continue building a relationship between our program and Harvard-affiliated hospitals."
