Women's Ice Hockey's Stone Among Three Finalists for ECAC Hockey Coach of the Year

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – Katey Stone, The Landry Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Ice Hockey, was announced on Wednesday as a Finalist for ECAC Hockey's 2021-22 Coach of the Year award.

Stone led the Crimson to a 21-7-1 mark during the regular season, including a 16-5-1 conference record. Under the leadership of its head coach, Harvard won the Ivy League title, Beanpot Championship and ECAC Hockey regular season crown in 2021-22, all firsts for the program since the 2014-15 season.

On Nov. 13, 2021, Stone reached 500 wins for her Harvard coaching career as the Crimson beat Brown, 5-2. With the win, she became the first female coach and the fourth of a women's program to achieve the milestone.

Stone is joined by Yale's Mark Boulding and Brown's Melanie Ruzzi as the three finalists for the award.

Now in her 27th season with the Crimson, the native of Watertown, Conn. is a three-time recipient of the ECAC Hockey Coach of the Year distinction, having won the honor in 1999, 2005 and 2008. Stone has compiled a career record of 515-260-55 at Harvard.
