CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University baseball opens its 2022 season with a three-game series at the No. 24 University of Miami on ACC Network Extra with game one on Friday, Feb. 25 at 7:00 p.m., game two on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 7:00 p.m., and game three on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 1:00 p.m. as the Crimson competes for the first time in 719 days.

What to Know
- With Friday's game against Miami, Harvard will play for the first time since a 5-4 win over Stetson on March 8, 2020 – a span of 719 days. Harvard trails Miami in the all-time series, 1-8.
- The Crimson will play a three-game series against the No. 24 nationally ranked Hurricanes at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field. Miami brings a 5-0 record into the weekend, coming off a three-game sweep of Towson prior to a win over FAU.
- Harvard's weekend rotation is set to feature junior right-hander Adam Stone, junior left-hander Tim Williamson, and senior right-hander Jaren Zinn. Miami will throw Alejandro Rosario, Carson Palmquist, and Jake Garland.
- Junior Logan Bravo will serve as one of the Crimson's captains in 2022. Bravo started all six games for Harvard in 2020 after playing in 20 games with 16 starts in 2019. Playing for the North Shore Navigators in the NECBL this past summer, Bravo tallied 14 home runs, 32 RBIs, and a .287 batting average in 39 games.
- Junior Will Jacobsen will act as a co-captain for the Crimson this season. Jacobsen made starts in all six games for Harvard in 2020 while also making two relief appearances on the mound. This past summer, Jacobsen played in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League for the Cotuit Kettleers, making eight appearances and three starts as a pitcher.
- This past July, junior right-handed pitcher Adam Stone completed a summer tour with the Team USA Collegiate National Team, which included an 11-game intrasquad Stars vs. Stripes series from July 2-15 before concluding with a three-game series against the U.S. Olympic Team from July 18-20.
- Stone made three appearances with one start during the 11-game intrasquad series, throwing 8.0 innings with eight strikeouts against five walks. He posted a 1-1 record and allowed five runs with a 5.62 ERA. In the three-game series against the U.S. Olympic Team, Stone appeared out of the bullpen in the matchup on July 19, striking out two-time MLB All-Star Todd Frazier to end the top of the sixth inning.
- Harvard earned the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award for the fifth straight year for its achievements in the classroom during the 2020-21 academic year, the ABCA announced in August 2021.
- Two classes of Crimson student-athletes will make their collegiate debuts this season while three classes will compete in an Ivy League game for the first time.
- Harvard's Class of 2024 members that will make their collegiate debuts include catcher Brice Austin, infielder Jake Berger, right-handed pitcher Chris Clark, right-handed pitcher Jay Driver, right-handed pitcher Porter Jordiehm, outfielder Peter Messery, and right-handed pitcher Christ Snopek.
- The Crimson's Class of 2025 who will dress for Harvard for the first time include right-handed pitcher Nate Baxter, infielder George Cooper, catcher Sawyer Feller, outfielder Matt Giberti, first baseman/outfielder Peter Levin, infielder/right-handed pitcher Sean Matson, and right-handed pitcher Tanner Smith.
- Harvard has a pair of new assistant coaches this spring. Nate Cole – previously an assistant coach at Southern Connecticut and Massachusetts – and Jack Hawke – previously an assistant coach at Vassar, Post, and Bard – joined the staff as assistant coaches this past fall.
- Harvard's 2022 non-conference slate includes road trips to the states of Miami, Texas, and California. After the Crimson's opening series at Miami (Feb. 25-27), the team plays at Rice (Mar. 4-6), Cal Poly (Mar. 11-13), Fresno State (Mar. 15), and UCLA (Mar. 18-20). Harvard will compete in eight games over 10 days in the state of California from Mar. 11-20.
- The Crimson's regional non-league games include Holy Cross (Mar. 29), Massachusetts in the Beanpot (Apr. 5), Merrimack (Apr. 19), and UMass Lowell (Apr. 26).
- Harvard will compete in an Ivy League regular season game for the first time since May 6, 2019 – a span of 1,055 days – when it plays at Cornell on Mar. 26. The Crimson will play in seven, three-game Ivy League series from Mar. 26 to May 15.
- The Crimson will host a home game at O'Donnell Field for the first time since May 19, 2019 – a span of 1,049 days – when it welcomes Brown for its home opener on Apr. 2.
- In the 2020 season, Harvard played six games prior to the cancelation of the remainder of the season due to COVID-19. The Crimson did not play in 2021 due to COVID-19.
- In 2019, Harvard won the Ivy League regular season title before capturing the Ivy League Playoff Series and an automatic berth into the NCAA tournament. In the Oklahoma City Regional, Harvard fell to host Oklahoma State and Connecticut.

Bill Decker, The Joseph J. O'Donnell '67 Head Coach for Harvard Baseball, enters his 10
th season as the leader of the Crimson. The 2019 Ivy League Coach of the Year and 2019 NEIBA Coach of the Year led the Crimson to the 2019 Ivy League title. He holds a 125-171 record at Harvard and a 622-428 career record as a collegiate head coach.
