CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 1 Harvard (13-0) had little trouble in its opening match of the 2022 Howe Cup, powering past No. 8 Penn (8-8) by a score of 9-0 in a quarterfinal match at the Murr Squash Center on Friday afternoon.
The Crimson controlled play from start to finish, winning all nine matches in either three or four games.
Amira Singh,
Evie Coxon and
Marina Stefanoni all notched wins in the opening wave to start things off.
Habiba Eldafrawy,
Amina Yousry and
Brecon Welch continued the momentum with three more Harvard victories, before
Hana Moataz,
Serena Daniel and
Binney Huffman sealed the sweep.
With the win, the Crimson advances to tomorrow's semifinals to face Yale, an opponent it defeated, 7-2, less than a month ago.
