No. 1 Women’s Squash Handles No. 4 Yale, 9-0, Moves on to Howe Cup Final

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 1 Harvard (14-0) will return to the Howe Cup final for the 11th consecutive season after the Crimson swept No. 4 Yale (7-5) in a semifinal matchup on Saturday afternoon at the Murr Squash Center.
 
All nine Harvard players were victorious, with seven winning by a score of 3-0. The match was clinched when senior captain Hana Moataz captured the fifth point for Harvard with a triumph at the No. 1 position. 
 
The win was the 97th consecutive CSA victory for Harvard, and the program's 20th straight in the Howe Cup.

  • Harvard has now won 97 matches in a row and 20 straight in Howe Cup play. 
  • The Crimson returns to the Howe Cup final for the 11th straight season. 
  • Harvard individuals are a perfect 18-0 through two matches in the Howe Cup and have outscored opponents 54-6 in games for the tournament.  
  • Habiba Eldafrawy lost a team-low 10 points on the day. 
  • Harvard posted seven, 3-0 sweeps in the match, outscoring Yale, 27-3. 
  • Harvard is now 45-15 all-time vs. Yale and has won 13 straight over the Bulldogs. 
  • Mike Way, the Gregory Lee '87 and Russell Ball '88 Endowed Coach for Squash at Harvard University, improves to 30-2 in the Howe Cup during his time at Harvard.
