Nick Abruzzese earned First Team All-ECAC Hockey honors, and junior defenseman
Henry Thrun as well as junior goaltender
Mitchell Gibson earned Second Team All-ECAC Hockey recognition, the conference announced today (March 10).
Abruzzese was Harvard's top per-game point scorer (1.14 points per game) and led all team forwards in plus/minus (+10). He also led the team with five power play goals. A standout on the U.S. Olympic hockey team, Abruzzese finished sixth in scoring in ECAC Hockey contests with 19 points in 18 games despite missing four conference games while competing in Beijing.
Thrun finished the season tied for second among ECAC Hockey defensemen with 27 points (six goals, 21 assists). He is currently 18
th in the nation and sixth among all NCAA defensemen with .72 assists per game. Thrun played his best hockey down the stretch as he led Harvard in its final 12 contests with 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) and a plus-9 rating.
Gibson is currently 11th in the nation with a 2.04 goals-against average overall and allowed two goals or less in 14 of 24 starts. In ECAC Hockey play, Gibson was one of two goalies with double digit wins (11), and had a 1.81 goals against average and .927 save percentage.
