CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's fencing team had seven athletes selected to the Northeast All-Region team, the United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) announced today.
The Crimson had four fencers land on the first team and three on the second team.
For men's epee,
Jonas Hansen was honored to the Northeast All-Region First Team. Hansen posted a 55-26 record across all bouts this season, including a 16-7 showing with a +34-touch differential in the NCAA Northeast Regionals to earn the bronze medal.
On the men's foil Northeast All-Region First Team was
Kenji Bravo and
James Chen. For Bravo, this is his second career nod to the first team after being selected in 2020. Bravo posted a 53-22 record throughout the year and a 19-4 record at the NCAA Northeast Regionals to earn the gold medal. Chen, meanwhile, went 35-18 this season and 17-6 at the regionals with a +49-touch differential, on his way to a silver medal.
Men's sabre had four nods to the All-Region team with one on the first team and three on the second team.
Filip Dolegiewicz earned the lone first-team honor with 49-19 record across the year, while going 16-7 with a +29-touch differential to grab the bronze medal.
On the men's sabre Northeast All-Region Second Team,
Mitchell Saron,
Daniel Solomon and
Jason Oh were all recognized. For Saron, it is his second time on the second team after being named in 2020.
Saron posted a team-best 64-15 record across the season, while going 16-7 with a +21-touch differential in the regionals. Solomon went 54-22 for the season, as well as 14-9 record with a +21-touch differential in the regionals. Oh, lastly, posted a 36-15 mark overall, with a 16-7 (+21) showing in the regionals.
