What to Know: Team Notes

• The Crimson (13-12) hosts the Huskies (16-15-1) after both teams fell in The Beanpot semifinals. Harvard dropped a 9-5 decision to Massachusetts while Northeastern lost to Boston College, 4-2.
• Harvard is set to throw either first-year RHP Sean Matson (1-2, 6.10 ERA) or junior RHP Will Jacobsen (1-2, 5.19 ERA). Northeastern is scheduled to pitch RHP Dennis Colleran (0-1, 4.91 ERA).
• Harvard leads the all-time series with Northeastern, 68-45-1. In the last meeting between the teams, the Crimson topped the Huskies, 4-3, in the semifinals of the 2019 Beanpot. The two teams first met in 1921.
• Harvard holds a 19-35-1 all-time record in The Baseball Beanpot. The Crimson has gone 6-9 in contests against Northeastern. Harvard has posted a 3-10-1 mark in the consolation round.
• In the week three (Apr. 5) NEIBA Division I Coaches Poll, Harvard remains in the No. 2 spot for the second straight week. Connecticut tops the poll for the third straight week.
• In Ivy League play thus far, Harvard has hit .324 as a team with a .410 on-base percentage. In nine games, the Crimson has totaled 67 runs, 95 hits, and 23 doubles.
• In its first home games in 1,049 days, Harvard took two of three games from Brown, sweeping the doubleheader on Apr. 2, 17-7 and 7-1. For the series, Harvard tallied 29 runs, 47 hits, 11 doubles, three triples, and 25 RBIs. The Crimson posted a .405 team batting average and .455 team on-base percentage.
• In its first Ivy League series in over 1,000 days, Harvard swept a three-game set from Cornell. The Crimson took game one, 7-5, captured game two, 11-5, and rallied to win game three, 12-11. Harvard totaled 32 hits and 20 walks across the series, posting a .414 on-base percentage and .296 batting average.
• Harvard has tallied a pair of wins over teams from Power Five conferences this season. The Crimson opened the year with an 11-6 win over the ACC's Miami in its first game in 719 days. Harvard also earned a 5-0 shutout win over UCLA of the Pac-12.

What to Know: Batting Notes

• Sophomore Chris Snopek leads the Crimson in batting average (.372), on-base percentage (.464), hits (35), and runs (19), while sitting second on the team in RBIs (16). Snopek ranks seventh in the Ivy League in both batting average and OBP. In Ivy play, he has hit .400 with a .525 OBP. He paces the team with 12 multi-hit games on the year.
• Snopek hit .545 (6-for-11) with four RBIs, four runs, two doubles, and a triple in the Brown series. In his first Ivy series, Snopek posted a .455 average and .626 OBP vs. Cornell. Snopek hit .438 (7-for-16) in the Cal Poly series and earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors. He hit .500 with three RBIs, three runs, and a double in the Rice series. He totaled three hits, three runs scored, two RBIs, and his first career home run against Miami.
• Junior Logan Bravo has posted a .364 batting average and .412 on-base percentage on the season, while leading the team in doubles (10) and slugging percentage (.511). Bravo ranks second in the Ivy League in doubles. He has tallied 12 multi-hit games on the year and is on a 14-game reached base safely streak.
• Bravo hit .462 (6-for-13) in the Brown series with five RBIs, three doubles, and four runs. In the UCLA series, Bravo hit .500 (7-for-14) with a home run, two doubles, an RBI, and three runs scored. Bravo hit .400 (6-for-15) in the Cal Poly series, including three doubles. He went 5-for-13 (.385) with two doubles and four runs scored in the Rice series.
• Sophomore Ben Rounds has posted a .320 batting average with 24 hits, 18 RBIs, 18 runs, nine doubles, and a .429 on-base percentage. In Ivy play, he has hit .361 with a .429 OBP. He hit .571 (8-for-14) with five RBIs, three doubles, and five runs in the Brown series. In the last two games of the Cornell series, he went 4-for-9 with five RBIs. He has reached base safely in 16 straight games.
• Sophomore Jake Berger has reached base safely in 20 straight games. He has registered a .291 batting average, .440 on-base percentage, 18 runs scored, five doubles, and 14 RBIs. In Ivy play, he has hit .370 with a .541 OBP.
• First-year George Cooper leads the team in home runs (three) and has tallied 18 runs scored, 28 hits, seven doubles, and 11 RBIs. He hit his first two collegiate home runs in the Rice series, launching lead-off home runs in both game three and game four. He went 4-for-8 (.500) in the Penn series.
• First-year Peter Levin broke out in the Cornell series, hitting .462 (6-for-13) with six RBIs, two doubles, a run scored, and a .615 slugging percentage. In Ivy play, he has hit .323 with 10 hits, eight RBIs, and a .353 on-base percentage. 

What to Know: Pitching Notes

• Sophomore right-handed reliever Jay Driver has thrown 16.0 innings of relief this season, allowing just three runs for a 1.69 ERA. He has posted three saves, 25 strikeouts to six walks, and a 0.94 WHIP. He earned saves at Rice (Mar. 4), at Cal Poly (Mar. 12), and in game two at Cornell (Mar. 25). He ranks second in the Ivy League in saves (three). In Ivy play he has posted a 1.93 ERA, permitting one run over 4.2 innings.
• Junior right-handed pitcher Adam Stone has posted a 4.03 ERA with 27 strikeouts over 22.1 innings, while holding opponents to a .207 batting average. He earned a win vs. Brown (Apr. 2), hurling 6.0 innings and permitting one run with six strikeouts. Against Rice (Mar. 4), he threw 5.0 shutout innings, striking out eight. He made his collegiate debut against Miami (Feb. 25), striking out four batters over 4.0 innings.
• Junior left-handed pitcher Tim Williamson has notched a 33 strikeouts and a .220 opponent batting average over 32.1 innings on the season. He ranks second in the Ivy League in opponent batting average. Williamson earned Ivy League Pitcher of the Week honors after throwing 6.0 shutout innings with six strikeouts in a victory over UCLA (Mar. 19). He gained a win vs. Brown (Apr. 2), throwing 5.0 innings and allowing one earned run with a season-high nine strikeouts. He earned a win at Rice (Mar. 5), tossing 6.0 innings and permitting one run with seven strikeouts.
• Senior right-handed pitcher Jaren Zinn ranks in a tie for first in the Ivy League with 49 strikeouts over 29.2 innings pitched. He earned the win in game three against Cal Poly Mar. 12) behind a career-high 11 strikeouts. Zinn threw 6.0 innings and allowed just one run on four hits and two walks. He gained Ivy League Pitcher of the Week honors for the effort. He tallied 10 strikeouts over 5.0 innings vs. Brown (Apr. 3) and then eight strikeouts over 5.0 innings vs. Penn (Apr. 10).
• Sophomore left-hander Uday Narottam has tossed 15.1 innings of relief this year, allowing just three earned runs for a 1.76 ERA. He earned a save against Cal Poly (Mar. 13), throwing 3.2 innings without allowing a hit.
• Sophomore right-hander Chris Clark has not allowed a run in seven of his nine relief appearances this season. He has posted a 2.87 ERA on the year, permitting five runs over 15.2 innings. Clark earned the win at Cornell (Mar. 25), hurling 4.2 scoreless innings with a career-high seven strikeouts. He gained has posted two saves this year – at Rice (Mar. 5) and vs. Brown (Apr. 2).
• First-year right-handed pitcher Sean Matson has thrown 20.2 innings this season, making appearances as a reliever and starter. He has 29 strikeouts and a 6.10 ERA. He notched a career-high nine strikeouts at Cornell (Mar. 25). Matson earned his first career win at Cal Poly (Mar. 13), pitching 5.1 innings with five strikeouts. He threw 4.0 innings of relief against Miami (Feb. 26), permitting just one run on two hits with six strikeouts.

Bill Decker, The Joseph J. O'Donnell '67 Head Coach for Harvard Baseball, is in his 10^th season as the leader of the Crimson. The 2019 Ivy League Coach of the Year and 2019 NEIBA Coach of the Year led the Crimson to the 2019 Ivy League title. He holds a 138-183 record at Harvard and a 635-440 career record as a collegiate head coach.
