CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Concluding its regular season this weekend, the No. 14 Harvard men's tennis team will compete in a pair of Ivy League matchups. The Crimson will first travel to Brown on Friday, April 22, before returning home to host Yale on Sunday, April 24 at Beren Tennis Center. Both matches are set for 2 p.m. and will be streamed on Stretch and ESPN+ if moved indoors due to weather.
What To Know
- Harvard improved to 16-4 overall and 6-0 in conference play after a string of victories in the past week. The Crimson picked up three-straight wins after a weekend sweep with home wins over No. 39 Princeton (5-2) and No. 42 Penn (5-0), followed by a midweek victory over No. 28 Northwestern (4-1) on home court.
- The Crimson extended its win streak to six matches and remains unbeaten in conference play. Harvard is now 13-2 in its last 15 matches and has yet to drop the doubles point in an Ivy League matchup this season.
- Harvard has been dominant on home court this season, securing an undefeated 7-0 record when competing in Cambridge. Three of those wins have been shutouts over Boston College, Dartmouth and Penn, while Harvard has outscored its opponents 38-7 over the course of its seven home contests this year.
- The Crimson has held a steady presence in the top-20 of the ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, placing No. 14 the week of April 20. Harvard previously reached its highest ranking of the season at No. 10 the week of March 16.

Brian Shi has proved to be a force to be reckoned with this spring, sporting a 13-2 record in singles play at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.

- Brown enters the weekend with a 9-13 overall record and 0-5 mark in the Ivy League. The Crimson and Bears previously met earlier this season at the ECAC Championships, with Harvard earning a 4-0 shutout win. Harvard leads Brown in the all-time series, 83-7, and boasts an eight-match winning streak. The Crimson has not dropped a match to the Bears since 2013.
- Yale sits at 9-11 overall and 1-4 in the Ivy League. The Bulldogs are currently enduring a four-match losing streak and place sixth in the conference. Harvard owns a 73-26 record in its all-time series with Yale.

Andrew Rueb '95 is in his fourth season as the Scott Mead '77 Head Coach Harvard Men's Tennis. He was elevated to head coach after spending 11 years at Harvard as an assistant and associate head coach and has helped lead the Crimson to 227 total victories and seven NCAA Tournament appearances during his tenure.
