Women's Ice Hockey

Women’s Ice Hockey to Welcome Five First-Years for 2022-23 Season

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's ice hockey has announced Jade Arnone, Sophie Ensley, Kate Kasica, Gwyn Lapp and Indi Wagner as the five incoming first-years set to join the program as part of the class of 2026.

The group features a local flavor with four of the five student-athletes hailing from the state of Massachusetts. Wagner and Lapp arrive at Harvard having spent the last four years as high school teammates at Phillips Academy Andover, while Kasica is the transplant of the group, coming to Cambridge by way of Minneapolis.

"We are excited to welcome the Class of 2026 to campus this fall," Katey Stone, the Landry Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Ice Hockey, said in a statement. "Kate, Indi, Jade, Gywn and Sophie all come from great programs, and they have all enjoyed terrific high school careers. We anticipate through their hard work and preparation that they will be ready to earn their way during the upcoming season.  Next season there will be lots of daily competition in our line-up, but I am certain these five first-years will embrace the challenges ahead and jump in with everything they have. We can't wait for puck drop!"

The five first-years will join 21 returning letterwinners on the initial 2022-23 roster.

Harvard is coming off a season in which it won 22 games while capturing the Women's Beanpot, Ivy League title and ECAC Hockey Regular Season crown. The Crimson also made its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2015.
