CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Football led all Ivy League schools with 12 honorees on the 2022 Phil Steele Preseason All-Ivy Team. The Crimson tallied eight first-team selections and four second-team honorees while junior running back
Aidan Borguet earned Preseason Offensive Player of the Year recognition and junior defensive back
Alex Washington garnered Second Team FCS Preseason All-America honors.

Representing Harvard on the first-team offense were a pair of juniors in Borguet and offensive lineman
Alec Bank. The defense, meanwhile, was painted Crimson with seniors
James Herring (DB) and
Jack McGowan (LB) leading the way. Joining the duo were juniors
Nate Leskovec (DL) and Washington and sophomore defensive lineman
Thor Griffith. Senior kicker
Jonah Lipel rounded out Harvard's first-team contingent.

The Crimson boasted one second-team offensive pick in junior tight end
Haven Montefalco. Seniors
Truman Jones (DL) and
Max Jones (DB) found themselves on the defensive side of the ball, with junior
Gavin Sharkey being named a second-team punt returner.

Borguet collected Preseason Offensive Player of the Year honors after gaining Second Team All-Ivy and Phil Steele Third Team All-Ivy League in 2021. Last fall, he ran for 602 yards on 115 carries (5.2 yards per carry) with eight rushing touchdowns.

Washington stood as one of four Ivy League student-athletes to appear on the FCS Preseason All-America teams. In 2021, Washington garnered First Team All-Ivy and Phil Steele First Team All-Ivy League after tallying an Ivy League-best four interceptions.
