Men’s Squash Downs Yale 7-2

NEW HAVEN, CT – No. 1 Harvard Men's Squash (6-0, 3-0 Ivy) improved to 6-0 on the season and handed Yale (3-1, 0-1 Ivy) its first loss of the year.  In their return to the court, the Crimson looked strong, capturing seven wins on the day and showing resilience in a pair of comeback wins. 

Harvard Highlights

  • Senior co-captain, George Crowne, got things started for the Crimson on the night by sweeping his opponent at the No. 2 position.  Crowne was the only Crimson player to not drop a game. 
  • Neel Joshi and Ido Burstein, both found themselves down 2-0 in their respective matches but both regrouped and battled back to add wins for Harvard.
  • Ishant Shah found himself in a back-and-forth contest but was able to persevere to grab the clinching fifth win for the Crimson with three matches outstanding. 
  • Shah, Crowne, and Burstein lead the Crimson with perfect 6-0 records so far this season.  Marwan Tarek also remains undefeated with all five wins coming at the No. 1 position
  • With his sweep, Crowne dropped the least number of points of any Crimson player, outscoring his opponent 33-24.
  • Harvard now leads the all-time series against Yale 82-22 with the Crimson winning the last seven match ups.
