Women’s Squash Outlasts Cornell, Improves to 7-1

ITHACA, NY – No. 2 Harvard Women's Squash (7-1, 5-0 Ivy) grabbed another Ivy win by downing No. 6 Cornell, 6-3.  In each of the Crimson win today, no player dropped more than one game en route to their victories.  With the win, Harvard clinches at least a share of the Ivy title with an opportunity to claim sole ownership of its seventh straight title tomorrow. 

Harvard Highlights

  • The Crimson won every match at the No. 4 through No. 9 positions, while not allowing any match to reach five games. 
  • Brecon Welch has been dominating of late and continued that trend today, downing her opponent in three games, outscoring them 35-26.
  • Molly Stoltz made her third appearance of the season, outscoring her opponent 33-19, the least number of points dropped by any Crimson player.
  • With the win, the Crimson improve to 5-0 in Ivy League play and have the opportunity to win their seventh straight conference title. 
  • Harvard remains undefeated against Cornell in the all-time series, improving to 29-0.
