Athletics Trio Named to NCAA Sport Committees

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Athletics' Christian Bray, Andrea Lapointe and Ted Minnis have recently been selected to serve on three separate NCAA sport committees. Bray will serve on the women's volleyball committee, while Lapointe and Minnis were named to the men's and women's water polo committees, respectively.

Bray (Associate Director of Athletics – Compliance), Lapointe (Senior Associate Director of Athletics – Recreation) and Minnis (The Friends of Harvard Water Polo Head Coach) are each part of a group that is responsible for the organization and implementation of their respective national championship tournaments, including the determination of the participants and creation of the bracket. Their committee responsibilities expire in Aug. 2027.

The trio increases Harvard's representation on NCAA sport committees to six, which is tied with Ohio State for most in the country. The Crimson's other NCAA sport committee members are Deputy Director of Athletics – Internal Operations Nathan Fry (women's soccer), Associate Director of Athletics – Events Caitlyn Prandato (field hockey) and Senior Associate Director of Athletics – Capital Planning & Facilities Tim Troville (men's ice hockey).

Harvard also leads the Ivy League in number of representatives across all NCAA committees with six, just ahead of Penn's five.

The NCAA Division I level features several committees composed of volunteers from member schools and conferences who include college and university presidents, athletics directors, coaches, student-athletes, staff, faculty members, and conference office personnel. These individuals contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide how Division I schools operate their athletics programs.
