Milavsky and Williams Victorious in Finals of Main Draw Consolation Bracket

TULSA, Okla. – No. 58 Daniel Milavsky and Cooper Williams of Harvard men's tennis concluded their time at the ITA All-American Championships by winning the consolation bracket of the doubles main draw today.  En route to their title and third ranked win of the tournament, the Crimson duo defeated the No. 24 nationally ranked pair in come from behind fashion.
 
Erik Grevelius and Alvin Tudorica were able to pull out to an early lead against the Crimson, taking the first set 6-3.  In the second the Crimson found themselves down 3-0 before their comeback began. 
 
Milavsky and Williams would go on to win six-straight games to take the second set and force the match into tiebreakers.  The two duos went back and forth throughout the first 12 points as the match sat even at 6-6.  From there on out, the rest was the Crimson as the Harvard pair won the final four points to claim the championship. 
 
Drawing Max Sheldon and Ozan Baris (Michigan State), the No. 2 doubles team in the country, the Crimson narrowly fell in the opening round , 6-7 (3), 6-3, 10-3, ultimately starting their consolation bracket run. 
 
Milavsky and Williams grabbed their second ranked win of the tournament yesterday with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 defeat of No. 38 Duncan Chan/Lui Maxted (TCU).  That along with a victory over Lucas Horve/Oliver Okonkwo (Illinois) yesterday, placed the Crimson in the finals.

Next Up

Spots in the ITA Northeast Super Regionals will be decided tomorrow with six Crimson competing in the final day of the ITA Northeast Regionals.
