Women’s Squash Powers Past St. Lawrence

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 2 Harvard Women's Squash (10-1) dominated No. 26 St. Lawrence (4-13) in their first of two final regular season matches. 
 
Harbour Woodword and Emma Carney got things started for the Crimson quickly, downing their opponents both in three games to put Harvard up 2-0. 
 
Harvard clinched the win over St. Lawrence with five wins in as many matches played following wins from Amira Singh and Brittany Sun and the clinching win from first-year Molly Stoltz
 
Despite clinching after five matches, the Crimson continued on, adding three more wins to complete the sweep over St. Lawrence

Harvard Highlights

  • Harbour Woodward grabbed her second win of the season, securing the first win of the day for the Crimson by sweeping her opponent 11-6, 11-3, 11-4. 
  • Brittany Sun dominated her opponent, dropping the least number of points by any Crimson player, only dropping three points throughout three games. 
  • Playing at the No. 6 position, senior co-captain, Grace Steelman swept her opponent while only dropping nine points to pick up her second win of the year. 
  • Senior co-captain, Charlotte Orcutt, appeared at the No. 2 position for the first time this season, only dropping eight points en route to a 3-0 win. 
  • With the sweep over St. Lawrence, the Crimson have now defeated six opponents in perfect 9-0 or 8-0 fashion. 
  • With the win, the Crimson extend their lead in the all-time series over St. Lawrence, having won all four matchups.

Next Up

The Crimson will return to action tomorrow for their final regular season match against No. 4 Drexel.  The matchup will be a rematch of the 2022 CSA Team Championships final in which the Crimson won 8-1.  Harvard will honor its four seniors, Brittany Sun, Charlotte Orcutt, Grace Steelman, and Evie Coxon, tomorrow.
