CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior goaltender
Mitchell Gibson was named one of nine semifinalists for the Mike Richter Award, given to the top goalie in all of Division I men's college hockey.
Gibson (11-5-2, 2.29 GAA, .919 Save %) has been one of the nation's best in net, allowing two goals or less in 10 of his 18 starts this season and putting up six 30-plus save performances.
He entered the year as one of the most experienced goaltenders in the nation and he currently has a career 40-23-6 mark in 70 games played, including a 2.34 GAA and .918 Save %.
Three finalists will be announced in early March and the winner of this year's Mike Richter Award will be announced in April during the NCAA Frozen Four in Tampa.
