HOW IT HAPPENED
Sophomore forward
Matthew Coronato got things started early on, taking a flip pass from first-year forward
Joe Miller, skating into the high slot and firing a rocket past Watson at 7:44 to put Harvard up 1-0.
Gibson was excellent early on, stopping all nine shots in the opening frame to keep Harvard in front after 20 minutes.
Farrell then scored his 16
th goal of the year, taking a pass from Coronato off a faceoff win and banking a pass off an RPI defender's skate and into the net at 5:52 of the second period.
Harvard added a big goal in the final minute of the third period on a beautiful passing play. Hejduk fed cross ice to junior forward
Ryan Drkulec, who found senior forward
Baker Shore breaking in alone. Shore found an open Hejduk at the side of the net for a tap in goal at 19:34.
Farrell continued his big night in the third period, redirecting a pass from senior defenseman
Henry Thrun past Watson at 4:07 to make it 4-0 Harvard.
The only drama that remained was preserving the shutout for Gibson, which senior defenseman
Jace Foskey helped with a diving blocked shot midway through the period with the net vacant on a rebound chance for the Engineers.
