Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Despite an early lead, No. 8 seed Harvard (7-20-3) were narrowly edged 4-2 by the No. 2 ranked team in the country and No. 1 seed Yale (27-2-1) in the first game of the best of three series of the first round of the ECACH tournament in Ingalls Rink.

How it Happened
- The Crimson came out firing to open up the ECACH tournament, putting up 11 shots on goal in the period and having numerous scoring opportunities.
- Kristin Della Rovere opened all scoring by burying a rebound off her own shot into the back of the net at the 6:41 mark of the first period to give Harvard a 1-0. Anne Bloomer assisted on the goal.
- Just minutes later, Anne Bloomer would give the Crimson a 2-0 lead after scoring off a beautiful Della Rovere across goal pass.
- Alex Pellicci's 13 saves would help Harvard hold Yale scoreless in the first period.
- Yale would record two goals despite 17 Pellicci saves in the second period.
- The game was tied at two entering the final period.
- The first half of the third period went back and forth with each team having scoring chances.
- Yale would break the deadlock at the 10:56 mark of the third period to take a 3-2 lead.

- Bloomer notched her team leading 15th goal of the season in the first period. Della Rovere notched her 14th assist of the season on the goal.
- This was Bloomer's eighth multipoint game of the season. She has also recorded a point in three of her last four games. For Della Rovere, this was her fourth multipoint game of the season.
- Alex Pellicci tallied 41 saves in the game, her most since recording 46 saves on Jan. 28 against Colgate.
- Mia Biotti and Jade Arnone each made three blocks to lead the team in the game.
