Records Continue to Fall for Harvard at Crimson Elite and Multi

Cambridge, Mass. - The Harvard men's and women's track and field teams hosted day one of the Crimson Elite and Multi, where five Crimson athletes won individual events and two more school records fell.

The men's heptathlon will continue tomorrow at the Gordon Indoor track at 10 a.m. with the 60m hurdles, pole vault and 1000m run. Harvard multi athlete John Minicus currently sits in second place four events into the competition with a score of 2151. Live results will be available at the same link as today's events, posted above. 

Harvard Highlights

  • Izzy Goudros set a new personal best in the indoor pentathlon with a score of 4173 to win the event. This score bumps her up to third in the NCAA as of today. Goudros won three of the five events in the pentathlon with a 2:18.30 800m run, an 8.47 in the 60m hurdles and a seasons best 6.20m jump in the long jump. She cleared 1.63m in the high jump and threw 11.37m in the shot put to round out the pentathlon events. Her jump of 6.20m sets a new school record in the long jump.
  • Anastasia Retsa broke the indoor school record in the women's pole vault and won the event with just three jumps on the night. She went on to clear 4.16m as the winning height and new school record. 
  • Aaron Shirley jumped up to 4th all time in the men's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.01.
  • Sarah Omoregie stays undefeated in the Gordon Indoor Track as she threw 16.16m in the shot put to take yet another first-place accolade home. 
  • Stephanie Ratcliffe finished off the Crimson sweep in the women's throwing events, winning the weight throw with a throw of 21.58m, beating out second place by just over one meter. 
  • Mfoniso Andrew won the women's 400m dash to end the night's running events with a time of 55.97. Jackylnn Okereke joined her on the podium with a 56.83 for third. 
  • John Minicus sits in second in the men's heptathlon after winning the heptathlon shot put with a throw of 13.05m and taking second in the heptathlon high jump with a 1.90m jump. 

Up Next

Harvard will host day two of the Crimson Elite and Multi at 10 a.m. tomorrow with the remaining events in the men's heptathlon. Many Crimson athletes will travel to the BU Scarlet and White Invitational tomorrow to compete in the sprints, distance and jumps events.
