PROVIDENCE, RI – The Harvard Open Sailing Team competed in the NEISA Open Team Race Championship hosted by Brown University this weekend, placing third out of 12 teams.
The Crimson started the weekend strong, finishing the first day of racing tied with the eventually regatta champion, Yale. Both squads went 6-1 on Saturday to set themselves in the top-six going into Sunday.
In the second day of races, Harvard was joined by Yale, Roger Williams, Dartmouth, Coast Guard, and Tufts atop the leader board. Led by skippers

Marbella Marlo, Christopher Wang, and
Kennedy Leehealey, the Crimson went 2-3 in their Sunday races. Despite dropping battles against Yale, Dartmouth, and Coast Guard, the Crimson were able to pick up dominant 1-2-3 wins over both Roger Williams and Tufts.
Following their five races against top-six schools, the Crimson faced off against Coast Guard, Tufts and Dartmouth in a sail off for third place. Going a perfect 3-0 against the squads, the Crimson finished third overall for the weekend, bested on the leader board by only Yale and Roger Williams.

The Crimson will compete at the trio of regattas next weekend including hosting the NEISA Women's Team Race Championship. Along with their home event, the Crimson will battle at the Thompson Trophy Team race hosted by the US Coast Guard Academy and the Oberg Trophy Team Race hosted by MIT.
