Providence, R.I. -Â The Crimson wrapped up competition at the Friar Invitational and through day one of the UConn Northeast Challenge on Friday, April 14. Highlights from each meet include the women's heptathletes leading the way in Connecticut and personal bests in the 800m run in Providence.
Friar Invitational Highlights
- Marianne Mihas ran a personal best in the 800m run with a time of 2:09.08, moving her up to ninth in the Crimson record books.Â
- Noah Ward shaved two seconds off his 800m time as well, running 1:50.66 to take third in Providence.Â
UConn Northeast Challenge Highlights
- After four of seven heptathlon events in Storrs, Conn., the Crimson are sitting in the three podium positions in the multi event. Current record holder Izzy Goudros leads the way with 3435 points, followed by Jada Johnson with 3190 and Fabiola Belibi with 3003. Goudros placed first in two of today's four events: the 100m hurdles and 200m dash and second in the shot put.Â
- Goudros' 200m dash time of 23.67 broke into the Crimson and Ivy League record books. Her time is now second all-time in the Harvard history and eighth all-time in the Ivy League.Â
- After five of ten decathlon events, John Minicus sits in sixth place. His best finish of the day has been third place in the shot put.Â
- Anastasia Retsa was the sole competitor to clear four meters in the pole vault, vaulting 4.05m (13' 3.5") to win the meet.
- Estel Valeanu continued her domination in the discus, winning the event with a throw of 52.57m (172' 5").

Day two of the UConn Northeast Challenge will begin at 11 a.m. with the remaining events in the decathlon and run until the conclusion of the men's 4x400m relay at 6:20 p.m.Â
