Cambridge, Mass. - The Crimson distance squads put on a show at MIT and Wake Forest on Friday, highlighted by a couple of school records in the 1500m run from Vivien Henz and the 5000m run from Graham Blanks at the Wake Forest Invite.
Wake Forest Invite Highlights
- Henz took three seconds off the men's 1500m record, setting the new time to beat at 3:39.78. He was followed by Joe Ewing, whose 3:41.36 now ranks second all-time at Harvard and Noah Ward, whose 3:43.83 now ranks fifth. Henz's time took fifth at the meet and cracks into the national top-25.
- Graham Blanks set the third record of the night, running the 5000m run in 13:24.91 to win the Wake Forest Invite. This record is not only a Harvard record but an Ivy League one as well. His time is second in the nation after the conclusion of tonight's races.
- Ramsden shaved one second off her previous personal record in the 1500m run, posting a new time of 4:11.73 that sits second in the Harvard record book. She took fourth at the Wake Forest Invite with a time that is now 13th in the nation in the event. Penelope Salmon placed 12th at the meet in 4:18.68, the fourth fastest time ever run by a Crimson athlete.
- Eloise Freitag won the 10,000m run and took two seconds off her own personal best to finish the race in 34:28.27.
- Acer Iverson brought the title to the men's 10,000m run home to Cambridge, running 29:13.54 to win the race.
- Isabelle Goldstein and Kristin Otervik ran strong races in the 3000m steeplechase with times of 10:17.13 and 10:19.63, respectively. Otervik jumped up to third, in the Harvard record book behind Goldstein, who currently sits in second.
- Reed Pryor earned a bronze medal in Winston-Salem and posted the number four time from a Harvard athlete with an 8:50.63 in the 3000m steeplechase.
- With a time of 16:16.52 that took second in her heat in N.C., Ella Gilson moved up to fifth all-time at Harvard in the 5000m run.
Sean Collier Invite Highlights
- Molly Malague won the 3000m steeplechase at MIT with a time of 10:57.03 to represent Harvard across town.
