Men's Heavyweight Rowing Keeps Adams Cup for 22nd Year In A Row

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. - The No. 7 men's heavyweight rowing team dominated the 91st Adams Cup with a full sweep of victories across all five boats on the Schuylkill River. 

The Crimson made history today winning the Adams Cup for the 22nd year in a row. The University of Pennsylvania placed second and Navy in third (58 - 13 - 14).

HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS

Varsity Eight / Adams Cup
The Crimson clocked 5:36.5 for the win, a mere three seconds ahead of Penn's 14th-ranked boat which was timed in 5:39.5. Navy's 17th-ranked boat was more than six seconds off the Quakers' pace, in 5:45.9.
 
Second Varsity Eight
The Crimson earned a five-second win in this race with a time of 5:41.7, with the tenth-ranked Quakers second in 5:46.7. Navy's 13th-ranked boat was nearly five seconds off Penn's pace, finishing in 5:51.4.
 
Third Varsity Eight
Penn took a very narrow third in this extremely competitive race, which saw all three boats separated by a mere 3.4 seconds at the finish. Harvard's fourth-ranked boat nipped the Midshipmen and the Quakers, the Crimson clocking 5:47.4 which was just ahead of Navy (5:49.6) and Penn (5:50.8).
 
Fourth Varsity Eight
Harvard and Navy took first and second in this race, with Penn a distant third.

Fifth Varsity Eight
Only Harvard and Navy boats competed in this first event of the day. The Crimson were the first to cross the finish line at 5:59.0 with a close 2.6 second lead over Navy who finished with a time of 6:01.6.

WHAT IS NEXT

The Red and White will race in their last dual race of the season back on home course against Northeastern in the Smith Cup on Saturday, 29th. This event will be live streamed on ESPN+.
