CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Sailing wrapped up their championship weekend by winning the NEISA Open Fleet Race Championship and finishing eighth at their first National Championship regatta of the season.
At the final conference regatta of the season the Crimson were victorious over 17 other squads to take home first place after two days of racing. The duos of
Lachlain McGranahan and Christopher Wang in the A-division and
Justin Callahan and
Kennedy Leehealey in the B-division finished second and first in their respective divisions.
In Division A, McGranahan and Wang ended with a total score of 83, behind only Dartmouth on the final leader board. The Big Green bested the Crimson by only five points. The duo of Callahan and Leehealey were dominant in Division B, ending the weekend with 48 points, 19 ahead of the next closest team.
Ultimately, the Crimson ended the weekend scoring a total of 131 across the two divisions. Dartmouth, the next closest finisher to Harvard, finished 49 points behind the Crimson.
In the opening regatta of a slate of 2023 National Championships, the Crimson finished eighth of 12 teams at the ICSA Women's National Team Race Championships. Harvard was represented by skippers

Sophia Montgomery.
Across 11 races, the Crimson finished 3-8. Harvard defeated MIT, 2-3-4, Charleston, 1-2-4, and Michigan, 1-2-3.

Following a near month long break, the Crimson will continue National Championship racing on May 23 in King's Point, NY. Running through June 1, Harvard will compete in five separate national regattas beginning with the ICSA Women's Fleet Race Championship Semifinals.
