Men’s Volleyball Secures 2023 USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award, Honor Roll Accolades

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Harvard Men's Volleyball collected a pair of academic accolades from the United States Marine Corps and American Volleyball Coaches Association today. The Crimson received the Team Academic Award and was named to the Team Academic Honor Roll.

For the 12th consecutive season and 14th time in the last 15 years, Harvard has secured the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award. To be eligible for this distinction, which was established in 1992-93, a team must maintain a year-long grade-point average (GPA) of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.

The Crimson was one of eight Division I teams to receive the annual award and one of three from the EIVA, joining NJIT and Penn State.

Harvard also landed on the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll, which recognizes the top 20 percent of team GPAs in each division. It marked the fourth straight year in which the Crimson earned its way onto the Honor Roll and was one of four Division I squads -- and the only EIVA team -- to receive the accolade.

Harvard and Saint Francis, meanwhile, were the only Division I schools to have both its men's and women's programs garner USMC/AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll recognition in 2023.
