CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Men's Volleyball head coach
Brian Baise has announced the program's incoming Class of 2030. The group, which consists of five athletes, will arrive in Cambridge in time for the 2026-27 academic year.
The first-year class hails from across North America and features two outside hitters, a pair of setters and one middle blocker. The two outsides are Mateo Sanz from Texas and Simon Vardeh from nearby Newton. The setters are from west of the Mississippi River in Kahi Marumoto, who calls Hawaii home, and Tyler Pence out of Newport Beach, California. Occupying the middle is Miles Hiscox, who will make his way east from Vancouver, British Columbia.
The quintet will join a Crimson team that is expected to return everyone from its 2026 roster except for its two recently graduated seniors in
Zach Berty and
Brian Thomas. Among the returners are rising senior
Owen Woolbert, who collected 2026 All-EIVA Second-Team honors, and
Thomas Phung, who was named All-EIVA Honorable Mention last season.
