DAVIDSON, N.C. ––  Harvard wrestling began its dual meet season with a big win over Davidson and a close loss to Lock Haven. The Crimson dominated in its first match vs. the Wildcats, winning all but two matches. 

No. 29 junior 125-pound wrestler Diego Sotelo took home a win vs. FloWrestling's No.1 125-pound wrestler in the country, Anthony Noto. This statement win for Sotelo is his 15th of the season thus far. Despite losing the first match, Lock Haven was able to collect the overall victory in the end.

HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS

- First-Year 133-pound wrestler Coleman Nogle started the day for the Crimson, winning his match against John Hager (Davidson) by major decision, 14-2. He orchestrated a takedown in each period. 
- Sophomore 157-pound wrestler Joseph Cangro had a close match against Tanner Peake (Davidson). Cangro scored a takedown, winning him the match in overtime, 5-2. 
- Senior 174-pound wrestler Philip Conigliaro continued his dominant start to the season, earning tech fall wins in both matches. He beat Sanderlin (Davidson) 16-0 and Stoltzfus (Lock Haven) 19-3.
- No. 29 Sotelo secured a massive upset against top-ranked Noto (Lock Haven), winning 12-8. 
- Senior 165-pound wrestler Joshua Kim took home two victories, beating Marc Koch (Davidson) 5-1 and Avery Bassett (Lock Haven) 9-6.
- Senior 184-pound wrestler Leo Tarantino won both of his matches on the day. His second win vs. Cael Black (Lock Haven) helped Harvard stay close within three points before the final match of the dual.

Harvard will face the UNC Tar Heels on Saturday, Jan. 13. This match will be streamed on ACC Network extra at 3:00 PM.
