No. 1 Harvard Women’s Squash Rolls to 9-0 Win Over No. 7 Yale

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's squash continued its great start to the 2023-24 season with another 9-0 win over the No. 7 Yale Bulldogs. The top-ranked Crimson (4-0, 2-0 Ivy) earned its fourth consecutive 9-0 sweep to improve its unblemished record. Harvard also improved to 2-0 in Ivy League play with the victory as the team gained more momentum heading into its showdown with No. 2 Trinity on Sunday.
 

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Harvard and Yale met on the squash courts tonight for a clash of top-10 teams in in the CSA rankings.
  • The Crimson took an early lead in the match after Serena Daniel sprinted to a 3-0 win at the no. 5 spot.
  • Amira Singh was close behind, registering a 3-0 win herself.
  • Saran Gregory-Ngheim notched the third Crimson win of the night with a 3-1 victory at the No. 2 spot on the ladder.
  • Brecon Welch captured a victory in only 18 minutes after defeating her opponent 3-0 at the no. 6 spot.
  • Molly Stoltz pushed the Crimson across the finish line, clinching the win for her team with a 3-0 win at the no. 8 slot.
  • Habiba Eldafrawy and Ella Galova were next in the win column, posting a pair of 3-1 wins to put Harvard in front, 7-0.
  • Lucie Stefanoni earned her first win of the semester with a 3-2 victory in the no. 4 pairing and her sister, Marina, closed out the match with a 3-0 win at the top of the ladder.
 

UP NEXT

Harvard will make the trip down to Hartford, Conn. on Sunday to battle the No. 2 Trinity Bantams in the CSA Match of the Week. The top two teams in the nation will square off on Sunday afternoon beginning at 1:00 PM.
