Wrestling Loses Two EIWA Dual Meets on New York Road Trip

ITHACA, N.Y. & VESTAL, N.Y. –– Harvard wrestling battled it out on the road against two tough EIWA opponents. The Crimson lost to Cornell, 37-6. The team traveled to Binghamton, yet unfortunately lost again, 28-9. Harvard looks to bounce back next week back at home.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Senior Philip Conigliaro was the Crimson wrestler to win both of his matches on the day. The 174-pound wrestler was ranked No. 5 on the most recent NCAA DI coaches poll, and this weekend he again proved to be one of the best wrestlers in the country.
  • Conigliaro beat Colt Marly of Cornell by major decision, 14-4 and secured an OT win vs. Gamkrelidze.
  • Diego Sotelo, Junior 125-pound wrestler, split both his matches, winning against Wagner (Binghamton) in impressive fashion with a late comeback, 7-6.
  • Senior Joshua Kim held his undefeated dual season campaign in the first match against Brody Oleksak (Cornell), winning by decision. Kim lost the second match in the final seconds with his opponent earning back points.
  • Jimmy Harrington was the only other Crimson wrestler to win on the day, with a victory over Carter Baer by decision, 4-3.

UP NEXT
