CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's fencing came up short in a narrow 14-13 loss against New York University at the Malkin Athletic Center. The Crimson is 11-6 on the 2023-24 season.
Of all three weapons, men's epee posted the best record, as
Henry Lawson, Anthony Malysz, and Mihir Kumashi combined for a 7-2 record. Kumashi went undefeated against the Violets, posting a team-high +13 touch differential. The Houston, Texas native wraps up the weekend with a combined 4-2 record in the dual meets against NYU and Duke. On the season, Lawson has 16 wins in his first year in Cambridge.
First-year foil fencer
Daniel Zhang led the charge for men's foil on Sunday afternoon, as he logged a 3-0 record on the day. The Belmont, Mass. native recorded a +8 touch differential against the Violets and has a 14-1 record to begin his Harvard career.
Across both dual meets this weekend, the epee crew logged the most combined victories, contributing 12 wins in the two matches.

- The Crimson is 11-6 heading into the Ivy League Fencing Championships.
- Men's epee led the team in wins today with seven.
- Zhang and Kumashi were the only men's fencers to go 3-0 against NYU.
- Kumashi led all Harvard fencers in touch differential with a mark of +13.
