CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard fencing continues its postseason journey on Sunday, Mar. 8, as the Crimson head to Poughkeepsie, New York for the 2026 NCAA Northeast Regional Championships. Vassar University will host the highly anticipated event at the Walker Field House.
WHAT TO KNOW
- Crimson fencers return to the Empire State for a second time this season looking to punch their tickets to the 2026 NCAA Fencing Championships in South Bend, Indiana from Thursday, Mar. 19 to Sunday, Mar. 22.
- For the first time ever, the NCAA will sponsor separate national championships for the women's programs and men's programs. The Crimson own two NCAA national championships in program history, the first arriving in 2006 and the second in 2024.
- In its last outing, Harvard shined at the most competitive conference championship in the nation, as the men's team won a share of the 2026 Ivy League Championship while the women's squad finished in second.
- Two Crimson men won individual weapon titles at the 2026 Ivy League Fencing Championships, both 2024 Paris Olympians as well. Sophomore Colin Heathcock won the Ivy League men's saber title, ending the two days of fencing with a 10-2 record and a +24 indicator, representing the best indicator of any competitor at the Ivy League Championships. Fellow classmate and Team Canada Olympian Nicholas Zhang finished in first in the men's epee competition in dominant fashion, posting a 10-2 mark to go along with a +22 indicator.
- Along with Heathcock and Zhang's individual triumphs, two more Crimson men also earned All-Ivy League First Team honors. A two-time All-America First Team honoree, junior Henry Lawson went 8-4 to finish in third in men's epee competition, while first-year Roy Graham posted a 9-3 record in his Ivy League Championships debut to capture third place in the men's foil table.
- Four Crimson from the women's squad earned All-Ivy League First Team honors as well. A two-time Olympian, Guo was dominant in women's foil action, posting a staggering +50 indicator and a record of 15-3 to finish in third place in the women's foil standings. Two members of the women's saber squad also took All-Ivy League First Team honors, as senior Zoe Kim and junior Kaitlyn Pak each logged identical 12-5 records to garner All-Ivy recognition. For the first time in her Crimson tenure, sophomore Yasmine Khamis took All-Ivy League First Team honors after compiling a 13-4 record in the women's epee competition.
