LANCASTER, PA. – Harvard wrestling wrapped its tournament schedule on a high note, as senior 174-pound wrestler
Philip Conigliaro won first-place honors at the Franklin & Marshall Open. Two other Crimson wrestlers also finished in the top-six at the Franklin & Marshall Open, as senior 165-pound wrestler
Joshua Kim recorded a fourth-place finish and senior 184-pound wrestler
Leo Tarantino took sixth place.
A native of Dedham, Mass., the top-seed Conigliaro was dominant in his run to the Franklin & Marshall Open 174-pound championship, winning every match on the way to the final by major decision. In his first three matches, Conigliaro defeated Drexel, Ivy League foe Columbia, and Air Force to punch his ticket to the Franklin & Marshall Open semifinals.
In the semifinals, Congliario was paired with Drexel's Jasiah Queen, the No. 4 seed at the Franklin & Marshall Open. Conigliario executed a takedown in each period against Queen, clinching a spot in the finals with a 19-5 major decision win in the semifinals.
Conigliario completed his march to first place with a 4-2 decision win against Austin Murphy from Campbell. In the second round, Conigliaro took the lead with a takedown, earning another point with an escape in the final period of action to secure the championship.
With his championship at the 2023 F&M Open, Conigliaro is the ninth Crimson wrestler in program history to garner first-place honors at the tournament. In two tournaments this season, Conigliaro holds a 10-1 record.
Kim began the Franklin & Marshall Open as the No. 3 seed, winning his first four matches against Maryland, Presbyterian, Rider, and Kent State to advance to the championship semifinals. A native of Corona, Calif., two of Kim's first two victories of the day were by fall and technical fall. Kim dropped his last two matches of the Franklin & Marshall Open to place fourth.
Opening as the No. 5 seed in the 184-pound bracket, Tarantino secured victories in his first two matches of the day against Rider and Lehigh. After falling to Campbell in the quarterfinals, Tarantino executed two decision wins against LIU and Army Prep to secure sixth place.
Three Harvard student-athletes earned four victories at the Franklin & Marshall Open, as junior 149-pound wrestler

Cael Berg all secured four wins in Lancaster.
