CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior guard Evan Nelson and junior guard Chandler Piggé are set to serve Harvard University Men's Basketball as captains during the 2024-25 season, Tommy Amaker, The Thomas G. Stemberg '71 Family Endowed Coach for Harvard Men's Basketball, announced on Monday.
 
An NABC Honors selection, Nelson will serve the Crimson as a captain for the second straight season while Piggé will act as a captain for the program for the first time.
 
Nelson played in all 28 games with 26 starts as a sophomore in 2022-23, starting the last 26 games of the season. He averaged 8.4 points, 3.4 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 28.9 minutes per game, while shooting 38.8 percent from 3-point distance and 81.0 percent from the free throw line. Nelson ranked third in the Ivy League in assists per game (3.4) and in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.7). He scored in double figures eight times, while leading the team in assists per game (3.4) and 3-point percentage (.388). He missed the 2023-24 season due to injury.
 
Piggé played in 25 games with 22 starts as a sophomore in 2023-24. He averaged 8.1 points, 29.2 minutes, 5.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game, while ranking eighth in the Ivy League in steals per game (1.3) and 12^th in rebounds per game (5.0). Piggé scored in double figures eight times with one double-double last season. As a first-year, he won the team's Floyd S. Wilson Sportsmanship Award.
