NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Harvard men's tennis saw a duo and a pair of singles players advance to the second day of the Ivy League ITA Conference Masters Qualifier this afternoon.
The pairing of
Mitchell Lee and
Valdemar Pape continued its undefeated streak to open the fall, downing Alex Knox-Jones and Leo Pade (Dartmouth) with an 8-6 decision.
Moving into singles the Crimson recorded two additional wins. First, Pape collected his fourth victory of the season, downing Alex Finkelstein (Brown) in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.
Lee also moved on to the round of 16 following Hikaru Takeda (Dartmouth) retiring at the conclusion of the second set.
In doubles, Lee and Pape will face the Brown duo of Finkelstein and Alexander Bravo at 10:00 a.m. to begin the day tomorrow. The duo will than face a pair of Cornell foes at 1:30 p.m. with Pape taking on the top-seeded Rodrigo Fernandes and Lee taking on Petar Teodorovic.
