Women’s Swimming and Diving Lifts Lid on Campaign This Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving will begin its 2024-25 journey this weekend with a pair of meets. The Crimson is set to open Ivy League action on Friday, Nov. 1, at 4:30 p.m., when it faces Brown on the road before playing host to Boston College on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m.

The dual meet vs. the Eagles will air live on ESPN+ and will also double as Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving's Breast Cancer Awareness Meet.

What to Know

  • The 2024-25 campaign marks the second season for Amanda Kulik, The Costin Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving. Her inaugural year saw the Crimson go 5-2 in dual meets and finish in second place at the 2024 Ivy League Championships, while sending four individuals to the NCAA Championships, its most since 2019.
  • Harvard is looking to secure its third straight season-opening dual-meet victory. The Crimson defeated Rutgers in 2021 and 2022, and earned a 170-130 win over Brown to begin 2023-24.
  • Harvard is 37-9 all-time vs. Brown and has won 21 consecutive meetings with the Bears. The Crimson has also won six straight head-to-head matchups in Providence, Rhode Island.
  • The Crimson is 11-4 all-time vs. Boston College, but has not faced the school since Dec. 7, 1999, despite the 4-mile separation.
  • Harvard has won 11 straight head-to-head meetings vs. the Eagles in a series that began in December of 1975.
  • The Crimson is captained this season by Molly Hamlin, Amy Wotovich and Grace Yoon. For Wotovich, the 2024-25 campaign marks her second leading Harvard after sharing duties with Kate Hazlett '24 and Natalie Whalen '24.
  • Harvard welcomes back all four NCAA participants from last season in Wotovich (3-meter diving), Remi Edvalson (1-meter diving, platform diving), Nina Janmyr (1-meter diving) and Anya Mostek (100 back, 200 back).
  • The Crimson also returns All-Ivy League athletes in Aleksandra Denisenko (400 medley relay), Sydney Lu (100 fly, 400 medley relay, 200 free relay), Mandy Brenner (400 medley relay, 200 medley relay) and Blythe Wieclawek (200 free relay).
