ITHACA, N.Y. – Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving improved to 4-0 on the season and 3-0 in the Ivy League after it earned victories over Cornell (176.50-123.50) and Dartmouth (165-135) over the course of two days.
How It Happened
- Alexandra Bastone won the 1,000 freestyle by nearly 10 seconds, completing the race in 10:02.89. Dartmouth's Addy Domian came in second place with a time of 10:12.20. Bastone later set the Teagle Pool record in the 500 freestyle, logging a time of 4:50.33. The sophomore again bested Domian, who finished in second (4:59.22).
- Molly Hamlin won the 200 backstroke in 1:58.84, completing the event ahead of second-place Jamie Legh of Dartmouth (1:59.28). Hamlin also swam the opening leg of the victorious 400 freestyle relay (3:24.11). She was joined in the pool by Mandy Brenner, Kaylee McDonald and Bastone.
- Hamlin was the runner-up in the 100 backstroke (55.35) as was Sydney Lu in a pair of individual events (50 free – 23.59; 100 fly – 54.60). Hamlin, Stephanie Iannaccone, Lu and Brenner also combined for a runner-up time of 1:42.61 in the 200 medley relay.
- Gabriella Augustyn secured a win in the 200 breaststroke, touching the pad in 2:17.41. Iannaccone, meanwhile, was second with a time of 2:17.57. Iannaccone later won the 200 individual medley in 2:03.61, just 0:00.08 seconds ahead of Hojung Yoon of Cornell.
