Men’s Tennis Posts Strong Opening Day at Battle of Boston

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's tennis opened its final fall home tournament weekend this afternoon by recording five strong victories across doubles and singles action.

To open the day, James MacDonald and Elisha Thornton dropped Jakob Esterowtiz and Jonah Dickson (BU), 7-5, to record the sole doubles victory of the day.

Moving into singles, the Crimson posted a quartet of dominant straight set victories.  Melchior Delloye and Kareem Ansari both defeated their BU opponents with identical 6-3, 6-0 results.

MacDonald dropped the least number of games of any Crimson player this afternoon, defeating Dion Loutas while only falling in a single game in each set.

Elisha Thornton recorded the final win of the afternoon, collecting a 6-4, 6-3 win over fellow Ivy foe, Noah Eisenberg (Cornell).

The Crimson will close its fall home slate tomorrow as it continues action at the Battle of Boston beginning at 10:00 a.m. from the Murr Center.
