Harvard Begins 2024-25 Indoor Track & Field Season with HBCU & Ivy Challenge and Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard track & field kicks-off the 2024-25 season with a pair of meets in its home state on Saturday, Dec. 7. The Crimson host the HBCU & Ivy Challenge at Gordon Indoor Track, while select Harvard student-athletes travel across town to Boston University for the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.

WHAT TO KNOW:
  • The Crimson will showcase a talented roster this season, returning eight All-Americans from last year's squad.
  • A two-time NCAA men's cross country national champion and Olympian, senior Graham Blanks returns to track & field competition after garnering All-America First Team status after finishing fifth in the 5000m at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
  • The defending NCAA men's weight throw national champion, Kenneth Ikeji returns to Cambridge for his senior campaign. A native of London, England, Ikeji owns the Ivy League record in the weight throw (24.39m/80'0.25), a mark that ranks fifth all-time in NCAA history.
  • An All-America First Team selection in the outdoor high jump and an All-America Second Team honoree in the indoor high jump, sophomore Tito Alofe looks to build off a historic first collegiate season. A native of Peachtree, Georgia, Alofe holds Harvard's indoor high jump record (2.22m/7'3.25"), just five centimeters off matching the Ivy League record.
  • One of the nation's rising middle-distance stars, sophomore Sophia Gorriaran earned a pair of All-American Second Team nods last season, both in the indoor and outdoor 800m race.
  • Senior Victoria Bossong broke out onto the national scene in 2024, picking up All-American honors for the first time in her career in the outdoor 800m last year.
  • Fellow classmate Chloe Fair also garnered All-America status for the first time last year, as the Suwanee, Georgia native earned second team honors in the 400m hurdles.
  • Harvard also welcomed several talented first-years over the summer, adding 21 members of the Class of 2028 from across the United States and the world to the roster.
