HANOVER, N.H. – Harvard men's squash earned a hard-fought victory tonight over the No. 12 Dartmouth Big Green, coming away with an 8-1 result. The Crimson (3-0, 1-0 Ivy) won four matches in straight games to come away with its first win in league play.
How It Happened
Harvard and Dartmouth met on the squash courts for the 85
th time in series history this evening with Harvard looking to add to its nine-match win streak over the Ivy League foe.
At the top of the ladder,
David Costales had to battle through a late rally from his opponent after going up 2-0 in the first pair of games. Costales won the third set, 12-10 to come away with his third win of the year.
Denis Gilevskiy,
Jacob Lin and
Neel Joshi all had no issues in their respective matches at two, three and four, going on to post 3-0 victories in all three matches.
Tate Harms and
Segev Rome each had to battle back in their matches at the fifth and sixth pairings. Both student-athletes fell behind early before rallying to win their matches, 3-2, in five-set thrillers.
Louis Murray and
Marcus Lee closed out the scoring for the Crimson at the eight and nine pairings. Murray took home a 3-0 sweep while Lee rebounded after a second game loss to win 3-1 and earn his second win of the season.
