MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving completed first-day action on Wednesday night at the Minnesota Invitational. The Crimson posted season-best times in the two events that were contested – the 200 medley relay and the 800 free relay.

How It Happened

• Harvard opened the two-event night by finishing in fourth place in the 200 medley relay. The Crimson A-team of Anya Mostek, Aleksandra Denisenko, Sydney Lu and Mandy Brenner posted a season-best time of 1:40.10, and was just 0.10 seconds shy of coming in third place (Denver – 1:40.00). California (1:34.24) and Minnesota (1:37.66) claimed the top two spots.
• Harvard had two other teams compete in the 200 medley relay, with its B-squad (Molly Hamlin, Stephanie Iannaccone, Isabella Alas, Kaylee McDonald), finishing in 1:41.55, and its C-team (Kiley Wilhelm, Gabriella Augustyn, Kenzie Padilla, Kristín Helga Hákonardóttir) logging a time of 1:43.86.
• In the final event of the evening – the 800 free relay – Lu, Hamlin, McDonald and Alexandra Bastone recorded the fourth-best time in the field, finishing in 7:14.99. Cal (6:59.13), Minnesota (7:08.73) and UNLV (7:13.05) occupied the top of the leaderboard.
• Mostek, Iannaccone, Payton Foster and Padilla also swam the 800 free relay, competing as Harvard B, and finished in 7:24.24. Giulia Viacava, Hakonardottir, Grace Yoon and Robin Cruz-Abrams, meanwhile, completed the race in 7:37.67.

The Crimson returns to pool on Thursday for Day 2 of the Minnesota Invitational. Swimming prelims are set for 11 a.m. ET, with diving trials set for 2 p.m. ET. The finals session is scheduled for a 7 p.m. ET start.
