Crimson Host Back-to-Back Dual Meets vs. Princeton and Penn

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –– Harvard wrestling is back at the Malkin Athletic Center for two conference dual meets. Coming off a disappointing weekend on the road, Harvard looks to make a statement on Saturday and Sunday against its EIWA opponents.

WHAT TO KNOW:
  • Senior Philip Conigliaro was a bright spot this past weekend, as he continued his undefeated dual season streak. He won both of his matches against Cornell and Binghamton, putting him to 16-1 on the year.
  • Coniglairo ranks No. 5 in the NCAA DI Coaches Poll and No. 10 on FloWrestling in the 174-pound weight class.
  • Joshua Kim, senior 165-pound wrestler, looks to improve his 5-1 dual record this weekend. Despite a close loss against Binghamton, Kim proved to be one of the top wrestlers in his weight class with a huge victory over Cornell's Brody Oleksak.
  • Diego Sotelo, junior 125-pound wrestler, picked up a victory in the final seconds against Bingahmton's Carson Wagner. With a loss against Cornell, this puts his dual record at 5-1, with 19 overall wins on the season.
  • Sophomore Jimmy Harrington secured a victory over Binghamotn's Carter Baer by decision, 4-3. This impressive effort put Harrington among the four wrestlers who won a match last weekend.
  • Last season was the first time Harvard beat Princeton in a dual meet since 2013. The Crimson won 20-18 in a back-and-forth effort, securing big wins from Sotelo, Conigliaro, sophomore Joseph Cangro, and sophomore Jack Crook.
  • Harvard faces Penn on Sunday and will also be celebrating senior day. Harvard seniors include Philip Conigliaro, Peter Ferraro, Michael Jaffe, Joshua Kim, Nick Marcenelle, Andrew Pace, Matt Smith, and Leo Tarantino
