NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. – No. 9 seeded Harvard men's tennis fell to No. 1 Ohio State, 4-1, in the quarterfinals of the ITA Indoor Nationals on Saturday evening. With its loss to the Buckeyes, the Crimson will face No. 5 seeded Tennessee on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 9:00 a.m. ET.
How it Happened
Harvard started the match off on a high note by taking the doubles point and a 1-0 lead. Harvard received clutch wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles positions after falling in No. 2 doubles. Both doubles wins were tight matchups as the Crimson remained strong to prevail 6-3 and 6-4.
In singles play, Harvard could not hold off the powerful Buckeye squad. Ohio State registered four straight wins at No. 1, No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6 to drop the Crimson, 4-1.
