NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. – The No. 9 seeded Harvard men's tennis team was defeated by the Tennessee Volunteers, 4-0, Sunday morning. The Crimson went 1-2 at ITA Indoors with a first-round win over No. 8 Columbia and losses to No. 1 Ohio State and No. 5 Tennessee.
How it Happened
In a tight doubles battle in which the Crimson picked up a win at the No. 3 spot, the Crimson eventually went down 1-0 to the Vols.
Henry von der Schulenburg and
David Lins won the hard-fought No. 3 matchup, 6-4. No. 1
Daniel Milavsky and
Cooper Williams put up a fight at No. 1, coming back from 5-1 to make it 5-4, but the duo ultimately could not overcome the deficit.
Moving into singles play, the Crimson first fell at the No. 2 and No. 5 spots, resulting in a 3-0 Tennessee lead. Harvard put up a battle, but the Vols saw a tight win at the No. 6 position to seal the 4-0 victory for Tennessee.
