Tyler Shulman each hit home runs, and the Crimson pitching staff limited the Trojans to four hits, but Harvard University baseball fell to Troy University, 4-3 on Friday night at Riddle-Pace Field in its 2024 season opener.

The Crimson (0-1) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first and remained ahead 3-1 entering the bottom of the fifth before the host Trojans (5-1) scored the game's final three runs, taking the decision in the bottom of the ninth.

Rounds hit his first homer of the season and seventh of his career while Shulman launched his first collegiate homer. Junior right-hander
Sean Matson threw 4.0 innings in the start allowing two runs with five strikeouts while first-year right-hander
Andrew Abler tossed 4.0 innings in relief, permitting one run on one hit with four strikeouts.

How It Happened
- Rounds opened the game's scoring with his solo home run to left field in the top of the first. The Trojans countered with a solo homer of their own to knot the score at 1-1 after one inning.
- Harvard regained the lead in the top of the third as Shulman launched a two-run homer to right center to push the visitors ahead 3-1.
- Troy pulled within 3-2 with a run off a walk in the bottom of the fifth and tied the score at 3-3 with a solo home run in the last of the sixth.
- The hosts walked off with the win with a run in the bottom of the ninth.Â
