No. 6 Men’s Tennis Rolls Over Boston University, 7-0

CAMBRIDGE, Mass – No. 6 Harvard men's tennis defeated Boston University at home on Thursday evening, 7-0.

How it Happened

The Crimson got off to a 1-0 lead over the Terriers after quickly securing the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and 3 positions. Rohan Murali and Masato Perera first defeated Corey Craig and Cole Knutsen of Boston University, 6-1, at the No. 3 spot. At No. 1 doubles, David Lins and Daniel Milavsky coasted to a 6-0 victory over the Terrier duo of Alejandro Licea and Johann Sajonz to put Harvard up heading into singles play.

In singles competition, Valdemar Pape took the first win after cruising to 6-3, 6-1 straight sets over Alejandro Licea at the No. 2 spot, and put the Crimson up 2-0. Masato Perera then secured the win at the No. 4 position, 6-1, 6-3, with Melchior Delloye following quickly behind at No. 1 with 6-2, 6-1 set wins.

To follow that, Rohan Murali registered another win at the No. 5 spot, defeating Jose Robalino, 6-2, 6-4. David Lins then earned a victory at the No. 6 position in straight sets of 7-5, 6-3. To wrap up the match against the Terriers, Alan Yim defeated Gustavs Dambins, 7-5, 6-2, to give the Crimson a 7-0 victory, winning every set on the day.
